The award was in recognition of the pioneering role that Air India has played, in developing dedicated freighter services, for cargo carriage in India. Air Cargo 2010 was organized by the ‘Stat Trade Times’, a leading industry publication dealing with air cargo logistics, industry developments and trade practices from all over the world.
Air India which covers 62 destinations in India and 34 destinations in 24 countries has the largest network among Indian carriers. It has six dedicated Boeing 737 freighters with a capacity of fifteen tonnes each and four Airbus A-310 freighters with a capacity of thirty four tonnes each. Air India Cargo is fully automated with ‘Track and Trace’ facility enabling shippers to monitor the movement of their cargo.
This award reaffirms the trust reposed by the freight forwarders on the national carrier’s proactive approach, persistent performance and undeterred commitment.
The infrastructure and expertise of the national airline, with its state-of-the-art technology maintenance facilities for servicing its fleet, ensures smooth transportation and delivery of cargo worldwide.
